STOP WORK MEETING
JUNE 5, 2014 @ 7:00 P.M.
Reminder – Stop Work Meeting, Thursday, June 5, 2014 @ 7:00 p.m. at ILWU Memorial Hall. Brothers & Sisters, please plan to attend – we have a lot of union business to take care of.
DOUBLE-BACK CARDS
Double Back cards for both day and nights will be available for pick-up beginning on Monday, June 2nd, Tuesday, June 3rd, Wednesday, June 4th, and Thursday, June 5, 2014 at ILWU Local 13 Dues Office during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.). In order to check in for Double Back, all dues, fines and assessments must be paid (per January 26, 1995 Executive Board Meeting motion, M/S/C – Any jointly registered person who wished to check in on the double back board must have his or her dues, fines or assessments paid up to date – Approved at the February 1, 1995 Regular Membership Meeting).
All Class A members must turn in their Double Back card at the end of the June 5, 2014 Stop Work Meeting. This process will establish Double Back lists for the month.
NIGHT DOCK BOARD SIGN-UPS
Sign-ups for the Night Dock Board will be available with Ray Pearson, Records Clerk starting on Sunday, June 1, 2014 through Monday, June 30, 2014 until 3:30 p.m.
SHIP & DOCK GANG SIGN-UPS
Sign-ups for Ship & Dock Gang will be available with Ray Pearson, Records Clerk starting on Sunday, June 1, 2014 through Monday, June 30, 2014 until 3:30 p.m.

ILWU/PMA TRAINING SIGN-UP
EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2014
Training sign-ups started on May 1, 2014 and end on May 30, 2014 at ILWU Local 13 Dues Office, 630 S. Centre Street, San Pedro, CA 90731. In order to be eligible for training the following criteria must be met:

Individuals must be paid current on all dues, fines and assessments. The parties recognize that the provisions of Section 19 of the PCLCD are applicable.

Individuals that fail training for any reason, including failure to show, shall be ineligible for training sign-ups for that skill for a period of one (1) year, unless otherwise approved by the Joint Port Labor Relations Committee (JPLRC). i.e. Individual failing top handler training September 1, 2012, that individual cannot sign-up for top handler training until after September 1, 2013. However, the individual will still be eligible for any other skilled training during that period. Individuals can voluntarily withdraw from a skilled training program prior to the Physical with the PMA Training Staff and/or Record Clerk’s office without penalty.

Individuals that missed the deadline for sign-ups because of disability (verified) and/or active military duty shall be allowed to sign-up within 30 days of their return to work. These individuals will be inserted into the training list based on their seniority. Individuals that do not come to the LRC within 30 days upon their return to work shall not be eligible until the next sign up period.

If an individual transfers out of Local 13, that individual shall be removed from all training lists. If the individual transfers back into Local 13 he/she shall remain ineligible for training until the next sign-up period.

Individuals that sign-up for training that have open Employer complaints will remain ineligible for training until those Employer complaints are resolved by the JPLRC.

Individuals that have been found guilty of 9.41 shall remain ineligible for all training unless determined otherwise by the JPLRC.

In order to be eligible for Crane, Mobile Crane or Winch training, individuals must have five (5) years as a Class A longshoreman. Exception: Herman-Flynn mechanics must have twelve (12) years as a steady mechanic or fifteen (15) years as a hall mechanic.

Training sign-up is not a guarantee of Training.
