CLASS “A” AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENT –

SECTION 8.34 OF THE PCLCD

 

The Joint Port Labor Relations Committee has found that you have not worked in the industry during the payroll months of October, November and December 2013 and there is no documentation on file with Local 13 or PMA to excuse you for those months.  If you failed to work due to illness or injury, please submit any medical or disability documents verifying the period you were unable to work due to your disability and if applicable, copies of State Disability Claim form, no later than Friday, May 9, 2014 to the LRC secretary Renee Olloque at 630 S. Centre St., San Pedro, Ca  90731.  You may fax the document to: 310-830-3489 Attn:  Renee Olloque. Failure to provide any documentation may result in your deregistration as a Class “A” Longshore worker.

Reminder - ILWU/PMA TRAINING SIGN-UP EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2014

 

Training sign-ups started on May 1, 2014 and end on May 30, 2014 at ILWU Local 13 Dues Office, 630 S. Centre Street, San Pedro, CA 90731.  

 

PMA/MOLINA CENTER VISITOR PARKING

PAYMENT METHOD CHANGED

 

It has become necessary to discontinue accepting credit cards/debit cards as a means of payment for visitor parking at Molina Center (PMA Building).  Therefore, effective May 1, 2014, only cash will be accepted as payment for parking. 

 

22 SHIFT LIMITATIONS

STEADY SKILLED MEN

ARBITRATION SCAA-0001-2014

Area Arbitrator ruled in arbitration SCAA-0001-2014 that the Employer is limited to working their “Steady Skilled Men” 22 shifts per month.  

Local 13 agreed on a trial basis that the Employers will utilize the steady crane operator calendar, and the steady skilled men will be limited to 22 shifts during this time period, and the 173 hours guarantee shall apply to the 28 day steady crane operator calendar.  

The Committee agreed to extend this trial agreement for a second 28 day period.  This time period will be from April 19, 2014 through May 16, 2014.  This Committee agreed that after this second 28 day trial period the Committee will meet to discuss the effectiveness of this agreement.  

Officers of Local 13 will meet and discuss the 22 shift issue with the PMA before the expiration date of May 19, 2014.
