IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR

TWIC APPLICANTS – Latest News

The Local has received the following notice:  4/22/14: TSA is upgrading its technology to improve reliability, expand capabilities, and more effectively support TSA’s mission.   During the system upgrade, specific TWIC card services will be TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE:

  • Services for Card Transfers, Card Replacements and Extended Expiration Date (EED) TWIC ARE NOW UNAVAILABLE through Sunday, May 4th, 2014.

  • Card Pick-Up, Activation and Personal Identification Number (PIN) Resets will be unavailable from Saturday, April 26th through Sunday, May 4th, 2014:

    • If you have a card that is ready for pick up and activation or need to have a PIN reset, please consider visiting the designated Universal Enrollment Services (UES) enrollment center for activation by Friday, April 25th or after May 4th.

        ENROLLMENT SITES WILL BE OPEN AND AVAILABLE:

  • Please note that all enrollment sites for TWIC, HME and TSA Pre✓™ Application Program WILL BE OPEN and AVAILABLE for enrollment services and NOT impacted by the system upgrade.  All TWIC card services will become available beginning Monday, May 4th.

  • If you have any questions about the availability of card services, please contact the Universal Enrollment Services (UES) Call Center at 1-855-DHS-UES1 (855-347-8371) between 8am – 10pm Eastern, Monday through Friday.

2)    4/22/14: Pre-Enrollment Now Available for TWIC Applicants: TWIC applicants may now begin enrollment/application process by entering biographic information online before visiting an enrollment center to complete the application process. To pre-enroll, please visit the Universal Enrollment Services website at https://universalenroll.dhs.gov, click on the TWIC program icon and select the “Pre-Enroll” link from the list of available services.

3)    If you hold a TWIC that expires on or before December 31, 2014 and you are a U.S. citizen or U.S. national you will be able to replace your expiring TWIC with a 3-year Extended Expiration Date (EED) TWIC. To order an EED TWIC or a card replacement, you may contact the UES Call Center at 1-855-DHS-UES1 (1-855-347-8371) Monday through Friday from 8 AM - 10 PM Eastern. 



 

ILWU LOCAL 13

MEMBERSHIP MOBILIZATION

 

The 2014 ILWU Contract is upon us.  As a result, the Officers of Local 13 are in the process of establishing a program to provide a reliable and accurate method of communication.  We are preparing to organize the Local’s Mobilization and Response Teams in an organized manner.  The procedures that follow are the initial steps towards this objective.  

Volunteer sign-up sheets will be available at the Stop Work Meeting Thursday, May 1, 2014.  Keep in mind that Membership Mobilization will begin on a first come basis.  Members will have the opportunity to choose their desired gate location and shift time.  In order to expedite this process, Local 13 Officers, Trustees, and Executive Board Members will be available at the Dispatch Hall on the above stated dates for any questions or concerns.  Information collected will be protected and securely placed into each members personnel file.  The time to act is now; step up and protect your Union!

Reminder Every Thursday - “White Hat Thursday” until our contract is ratified.

 

DOUBLE-BACK CARDS

 

Double Back cards for both day and nights will be available for pick-up beginning on Monday, April 28th, Tuesday, April 29th, Wednesday, April 30th and Thursday, May 1, 2014 at ILWU Local 13 Dues Office during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).  In order to check in for Double Back, all dues, fines and assessments must be paid (per January 26, 1995 Executive Board Meeting motion, M/S/C – Any jointly registered person who wished to check in on the double back board must have his or her dues, fines or assessments paid up to date – Approved at the February 1, 1995 Regular Membership Meeting).  

All Class A members must turn in their Double Back card at the end of the May 1, 2014 Stop Work Meeting.  This process will establish Double Back lists for the month.  

Class B registrants only need to pick up and turn in their Double Back card at the ILWU Local 13 Dues Office beginning on Monday, April 28th, Tuesday, April 29th, Wednesday, April 30th and Thursday, May 1, 2014 during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).   

Reminder - ILWU/PMA TRAINING SIGN-UP EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2014

 

Training sign-ups started on May 1, 2014 and end on May 30, 2014 at ILWU Local 13 Dues Office, 630 S. Centre Street, San Pedro, CA 90731.
